In the 90’s Chicago’s alternative music scene gave birth to many ambitious bands and musicians. Istvan’s first band Woo Woo Stick was one of them and was known for experimental sounds, home made instruments and puppet shows that would pop up mid song. Unbeknownst to him all this would be the breeding ground for many of the elements he’d be using to illustrate his Parent’s Choice award winning children’s music years later.
Istvan was pulled away from the indie music scene after the birth of his daughter Evie over ten years ago. He was so moved by becoming a father that he focused all of his musical output into writing songs for her. Songs that actively engage kids and encourage them to sing along, dance and play and even make good choices.
In addition to his outstanding albums and concerts Istvan produces a biweekly family podcast (Istvan’s Imaginary Podcast) filled with colorful characters and music as well as his web series that are featured on his ever growing kids YouTube channel.
